Overview

AUSANGATE TREK – 6 D / 5 N

This road will take us to the Apu Ausangate – one of the holiest mountains for the Incas. The mountain is located south east of the city of Cusco.

The road is physically demanding due to its altitude and cold-humid climate. During the walk, which consists of stones and earth, we will cross over 5,000 meters above sea level and camp in places located over 4,300 meters.

Although the walk gives back to a spectacular and beautiful landscape of the Puna region (High-Andean area), where the glaciers will surround our visual field, we will border lagoons and the Andean camelids will accompany us in parts of our tour.

Difficulty: demanding

Preparation: Very good, plus acclimatization in Cusco of at least 3 days.

LOCATION: It is located in the Center-South of the country, in the Andean.
