The Colca Valley is one of the largest, visited and important tourist destinations in Peru. It is located within the region of Arequipa in the province of Caylloma. Colca comes from the words Collaguas and Cabanas, two ethnic groups that lived along the Colca River. This canyon has a depth of 4160 meters, it is considered the deepest in the world.
LOCATION: It is located in the province of Caylloma Arequipa region.
03:00 a.m.
Pick up by private bus, to move to the Colca Canyon. We will arrive at the town of Chivay and we will have the first breakfast, we will go down to the cross of the Condor, we will continue to the town of Cabanaconde where we will start our first hike through the canyon, towards the viewpoints of Pampa San Miguel, where we can appreciate the tour. Starting our descent towards the town of San Juan de Chuccho making a walk of approximately 3 hours to the Colca river, we will cross a suspension bridge, then we can know some fruit and native plants of the area, in the town of San Juan we will have our corresponding lunch Then continue our tour to the depths of the Canyon visiting the town of Cosñirhua - Malata.
Overnight at Hostel Paraíso Las Palmeras Lodge, where we can rest enjoy the pool and dinner, offering a campfire, end of the first day.
05:00 a.m.
We will have our breakfast, continuing with our journey through the depths of the canyon visiting the villages of Cosñirhua - Malata and then heading to the Hotel Lodge where we will arrive at approximately 12:30 pm. In the Sangalle Oasis we can rest and spend a refreshing day in the pool. Lunch. Optionally in the afternoon we will prepare for optional tours through the exotic places of the Oasis, also offering the activity of demonstrative fishing in the river, after the dinner a bonfire will be offered.
05:00 a.m.
We will start the ascent to Cabanaconde, once at the top we will have a breakfast, then we will board the bus to go to the town of Chivay, previously making stops at the Antahuilque viewpoint and in the town of Maca where we can appreciate the colonial church. We will also visit the thermal baths of La Calera, lunch in the town of Chivay.
We will return to the city of Arequipa passing through the viewpoint of the Andes where we can appreciate the southern volcanic chain in the national reserve where we can appreciate The wildlife (vicuñas, birds and others).
